Community Acupuncture is performed in a large room with screens separating the beds. There is a 1o minute consultation period with your acupuncturist included and 30 – 40 minutes of resting time with the needles in. Cupping is included if necessary. This is the best option for people who have never tried acupuncture before, as the practitioner can see you at all times in case you are feeling nervous or uncomfortable. This is also the best option for people who need to come on a regular and frequent basis.
Private Room Acupuncture
Reserve a private room for your acupuncture session. Consultation can last up to 30 minutes if necessary. E-stim, Cupping, Moxa, Herbal Consult and light Massage included if necessary. Front and back points may be used in the same session. Each session lasts 1 hour.
Trigger Point Acupuncture
Trigger point acupuncture is a direct manipulation of muscle knots (also known as trigger points) to treat pain and injury. This is the best session type for people who have pain from a specific musculoskeletal problem, because the results tend to be very quick. All Trigger Point (TP) practitioners at City Acupuncture have had special training in TP above the standard licensure requirements. Check out this blog post for more information on Trigger Point at City Acupuncture.
Comprehensive Orthopedic Acupuncture
Please note: This is an in-depth treatment regimen with a practitioner who specializes in orthopedic conditions and has had advanced training. Each session is 60 minutes of hands-on treatment, one-on-one with your provider.
This combination of complementary bodywork therapies includes acupuncture, tui na medical massage, craniosacral therapy and orthopedic adjustment. Herbal therapies, diet/lifestyle adjustment, and medical qigong exercise may also be prescribed. This session type is best for people who have joint problems with restricted range of motion such as arthritis. It can also be useful for bone breaks, acute soft-tissue injuries or chronic pain from injuries that have not fully healed.
Massage and Acupuncture Combos
Our experience shows that for some issues the effects of acupuncture are greatly increased when done in combination with massage therapy. This is especially true for neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, migraine headaches, knee problems. City Acupuncture has created these two combo offers to help make it easier for you to get back on your feet.
